Mobile Widget Sharing by Mining Peer Groups

چکیده
Developers have began to wrap desired functionalities into widgets based on Web 2.0 techniques on mobile devices. Demand for these light-weight Web applications is expected to grow rapidly in near future. Since a widgets can be recognized as a unit providing a specific service, from the perspective of choreography, this paper adapts widgets into a mobile Peer-to-Peer (P2P) environment and proposes a light weight group discovery approach to assist service discovery based on domain ontologies and semantic clustering. Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) are employed and assist our approach in building up a Knowledge Base (KB) on each peer. This approach can prune the service search space and trigger the initial formation of peer communities. Its performance is also assessed via simulation results. A framework for porting widgets to different widget engines has been designed, making use of the above ontologies, and a basic widget transformation platform is implemented and tested in a case study.

Trans-Social Networks for Distributed Processing
A natural succeeding process for the Internet was to create Social Networks (e.g. Facebook, among others), where anyone in the World can share their experiences, knowledge and information, using personal computers or mobile devices. In fact, Social Networks can be regarded as enabling information sharing in a peer-to-peer fashion. Given the enormous number of users, sharing could also be applie...

Mobile technologies and services are playing critical roles in mobile work. One area is mobile collaboration where mobile telephony and data sharing are in high demand. This paper explores and demonstrates that enabling meetings for the mobile context to support “anywhere and anytime” collaboration poses new opportunities, challenges, and tools. EasyMeet incorporates four novel additions, compa...
متن کاملOptimization of Peer to Peer Content Based File Sharing System in Disconnected Manets
Current peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing methods in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) can be classified into three groups: floodingbased, advertisement-based, and social contact-based. The first two groups of methods can easily have high overhead and low scalability. They are mainly developed for connected MANETs, in which end-to-end connectivity among nodes is ensured. The third group of methods ...
متن کاملRTSP-based Mobile Peer-to-Peer Streaming System
Peer-to-peer is emerging as a potentially disruptive technology for content distribution in the mobile Internet. In addition to the already well-known peer-to-peer file sharing, real-time peer-to-peer streaming is gaining popularity. This paper presents an effective real-time peer-to-peer streaming system for the mobile environment. The basis for the system is a scalable overlay network which g...
متن کاملEfficient Peer-to-Peer Information Sharing over Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
Peer-to-peer systems have gained a lot of attention as information sharing systems for the wide-spread exchange of resources and voluminous information among thousands of users. However, current peer-to-peer information sharing systems work mostly on wired networks. With the growing number of communication-equipped mobile devices that can self-organize into infrastructure-less communication pla...
